ONE COMMUNITY ACTION

One Community Action (OCA) evolved as a community response to a rise in violent deaths in 2015 and 2016, many of which were youth.

Who We Are

OCA confronts the systemic inequities and violence that must be transformed for a safe and inclusive community.

We believe that to solve our COMMUNITY problems, we must begin with recognizing and respecting our diversity.

Land Acknowledgement

We Are On Chumash Land

As a racial justice organization, we acknowledge that our work takes place on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Chumash people. We recognize and honor the Chumash as the traditional stewards of this land, their enduring connection to it, and the rich cultural heritage they continue to contribute. In our commitment to reconciliation and understanding, we strive to amplify Indigenous voices, acknowledge historical injustices, and actively engage in the ongoing process of building respectful and meaningful relationships with the Chumash Nation and Migrant Indigenous communities.
