Our Mission

RAICES’ mission is to increase awareness of the marginalization of Black, Brown, and Indigenous youth, address racial inequity in the school to prison pipeline, and elevate Black, Brown, and Indigenous youth voices in decision-making.
Topics of discussion will includes:
  • Introduction to intersectionality-identity wheel
  • Reclaiming myself-cultural pride & creating a sense of belonging
  • Healing through sharing-becoming stronger together
  • Role of the media-shifting negative narrative
  • Artists as healers-using arts as healing methods
  • Advocacy 101-navigating the system together
